From the recording Free Speech & Paranoia
The first big musical memory I have that includes Annelie was when we were kids, on a very rare rainy and thundering Middle Eastern night, I had been recording a new song, just putting the finishing touches to it, when the storm outside got so bad that it caused a power cut. Annelie came downstairs enquiring why the lights had gone out and her stereo wasn't working, there wasn't much to do except admire the rain and lightning, and we ended up lighting some candles and jamming the new song on an acoustic guitar, with the rain and thunder providing a wall of sound accompaniment. When the power came back on we added Annelie's vocal to the final mix. Our taste in music didn't often overlap back then, we didn't go to the same shows or anything, so the stormy night was the first time we'd really bonded over music, or spent any time with it together. This is the song we recorded that night.
